Pet-tail

70%: US Households with a Pet in 2021.
11% Increased Spending in Pet Food (APPA SURVEY)
11.38 Million: Households that got pets during the Pandemic
50%: The increased risk of dementia due to Social Isolation

Our advisory in the Pet space was initially driven by our central philosophy that the changing face of brick-and-mortar consumer space would soon proliferate with upstarts. And that the most sustainable categories of Tenants would always need physical space to properly access the more vulnerable consumers (or patients) . Babies, children, the elderly.

And Pets.

The Pet and People healthcare space are inextricably intertwined and overlapping. From telehealth and wearables to wellness and diet, the ambition for healthier and happier pets runs parallel. Perhaps most importantly, studies have shown conclusively that pets can stave off loneliness and isolation. Dog parks and dog-centric restaurants can even promote more human interaction. Loneliness is a predeterminant for so many health woes and bad behaviors that make people sicker.

Soon, there will be more legitimized insurance offerings in the marketplace, and that bone will grow in tandem.

Meanwhile, our relationships and advocacy of Pawsome, GoodVets, Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, Bar K, Veterinary Emergency Group, Heath (JustFoodForDogs), offer us a front row seat to this expansive movement.
